Greening the future of chemistry education
Erasmus+ · Centres of Vocational Excellence
A European network building the skills, curricula and applied research that bring sustainable chemistry from industry into vocational training.
The mission
GreenChem establishes a network of Centres of Vocational Excellence (CoVE) in sustainable chemistry — reforming curricula, opening up flexible training, and bridging the gap between the chemical industry and VET education across ten countries.
What GreenChem does
Updating job profiles and reforming VET chemistry curricula for the green and digital transitions, at EQF levels 3–8.
Market-adapted upskilling built on open educational resources, e-learning modules and a tailored MOOC.
Pilot-plant exercises and applied research modules that carry industrial and academic work into VET training.
Start-up incubation and coaching that foster green entrepreneurship in the chemical sector.
Student and teacher mobilities, an international summer campus, and exchange across the consortium.
A socially inclusive approach reaching low-skilled workers and people with disabilities through accessible VET.
Structure
From new curricula and a digital green-chemistry LMS to pilot plants, incubation and policy — the work is organised into seven coordinated packages.
Industry, VET providers, universities and policymakers from ten countries are building the chemistry workforce of the green and digital era.
